On 25 – 26 September 2017 we participated in a conference organized under the project "Active protection of endangered species and habitats in the Natura 2000 “Ostoja Wigierska" area LIFE11 NAT/PL/000431”. The meeting took place in Gawrych Ruda on Wigry Lake.

The rich program of the conference allowed to get familiar with a number of projects implemented by different beneficiaries, which have a common goal of active protection of endangered habitats and species. Among the presentations were three on the activities undertaken in the Słowiński National Park (SNP) and Natura 2000 areas – Ostoja Słowińska PLH220023 and Pobrzeże Słowińskie PLB220003 and aiming to improve the condition of bird habitats.

Technical activities implemented under the LIFENaturaSlowinskaPL project were presented by Paulina Sopek. You can read the presentation here. Magda Hadwiczak talked about ecological effects of the project “Restitution and preservation of non-forest ecosystems in Słowiński National Park”, and Grzegorz Jędro discussed the impact of American mink (Neovison vison) on the development of breeding populations of wetland birds in the SNP area.
