On 8 and 9 May 2019, we participated in the conference summarizing the project "Protection and renaturalization of wetlands of the Kampinos Forest - Natura 2000 Site" that is "Kampinos Wetlands".

The aim of the project is to ensure the proper state of wetland habitats of the Kampinos Forest - Natura 2000 Site. Undoubtedly, the project is interesting, and it can be described as the development of a compromise, because the concept was to improve the humidity of habitats of the Kampinos Forest in parallel with reducing the risk of flooding, among other things, farms and homes.

The conference consisted of two parts. The first day was devoted to the "Kampinoskie Wetlands" project. We were told about the wetlands of the Kampinos Forest, the assumptions of the project, the natural and hydrological effects of the project implementation, as well as about its communication activities and social effects. An injection of practical knowledge was a field trip. During the trip, we saw technical solutions aimed at slowing the outflow of water to the main channels.

The second day of the conference was devoted to the protection of wetlands in Poland. Strategies, plans, possibilities, but also practical issues were discussed. During this day, we also talked about the LIFENaturaSlowinskaPL project.

Thank you for inviting us to the conference and we recommend looking at the website of the "Kampinoskie Wetlands" project to draw some more knowledge.
